Mwaba Mwila Adventures Participates in NHCC Stakeholder Engagement to Promote Domestic Tourism in North-Western Province.

We at Mwaba Mwila Adventures were honoured to be invited to participate in the Stakeholders Meeting on the Promotion of Tourism and Investment Opportunities at Heritage Sites in North-Western Province, convened by the National Heritage Conservation Commission (NHCC) – North West Region at Solwezi Lodge.

The meeting was officiated by the Permanent Secretary for North-Western Province, Col. Grandson Wishikoti Katambi (Rtd).

The engagement brought together traditional leadership, represented by Representatives of His Royal Highness Chief Kapijimpanga and His Royal Highness Chief Mumena, NHCC, Government officials, and private sector players to discuss how heritage sites can drive domestic tourism and community development.

As a proudly Zambian-owned tour operator championing domestic tourism, we believe North-Western Province is Zambia’s next frontier for local travel. Sites such as the Source of the Zambezi River National Monument, Kifubwa National Monument, Nyambwezu Falls, Mutanda Falls, Matukuta and Mumbezhi Falls hold immense potential for Zambians to explore first.

Our work on the ground: From 13th – 15th March 2026, we successfully led The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award (DofE) Adventurous Journey at Kifubwa National Monument with 43 participants from Solwezi Day Secondary School, Rodwell Mwepu Secondary School and St. Charles Special School.

Looking ahead: Informed by this engagement, we are working towards launching our North-Western Tourism Circuit in 2027 – designed specifically for the Zambian traveller, affordable, educational and community-led.We sincerely thank the NHCC – North West Region for the invitation, and in a special way we thank Mr. Michael M. Nang’alelwa, Regional Director – North West Region, and Mr. McMillan Mudenda, Director – Conservation Services, NHCC, for their leadership and commitment to heritage conservation.We reaffirm our commitment to continue engaging with NHCC and traditional leadership to promote responsible domestic tourism in the Province.
