This challenging yet rewarding hike is designed for those seeking a slightly longer and more demanding walk. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Day 1: Embark on an 18km journey starting from Musoka Hill Farm in Shimabala. Take in the breathtaking views as you ascend to the campsite, perfectly positioned to overlook the majestic Kafue River.
  • Day 2: Loop back to Musoka Hill Farm using an alternative route, offering a fresh perspective on the stunning landscape. If you’ve completed the Naboye Trail, you’ll recognise some familiar terrain, as this hike is an extended version of that trail.

Safety Precautions

Before embarking on your adventure with Mwaba Mwila Adventures, please ensure you have:
Active medical insurance: This is crucial in case of an emergency.
On our hikes, a qualified first aider will be present to provide immediate assistance. In the unlikely event of a more severe incident requiring evacuation, please note that:
Evacuation logistics and costs are your responsibility. We will assist with the process, but you must organise and cover any further treatment expenses.

Mobile Signal

Mobile signal is patchy in the area, and in some places is non-existent. There is no signal at the overnight camp

Meals

Our tour package includes the following meals:

Please note that you are advised to bring additional snacks to keep you energised throughout the tour.

Packing

For a comfortable and enjoyable hiking experience, please pack your belongings in two separate bags:

Base Camp Bag: Pack personal belongings for your stay at Base Camp, including clothing, toiletries, and other personal items.

Day Bag: Pack essentials for the day’s hike, such as snacks, water, and sunscreen.

CAMPING
& EQUIPMENT

Please note that our campsite is a “wild camping” experience, offering a unique and immersive connection with nature. The campsite has the following amenities:

  • Makeshift toilets and showers
  • Tent, mattresses and sleeping bags provided for each camper

Please be prepared for a rustic experience with no running water or electricity.

06:30 Meet at Manda Hill – Puma Filling

07:00 Bus departs from Manda Hill – Puma Filling Station.
09:00 Arrive at Musoka Hill Shimabala
Briefing & and collection of packed lunch
09:30 Hike Begins.
Eat lunch en route.
15:00 Arrival at Camp

16:00 Boat Cruise
18:00 Supper


Day 2 – Sunday 29th March

Note:

For those on the bus, please be at Manda Hill Puma filling station by 6:30. Start off time is at 7 hours sharp!

For those on self-drive, we will meet at Musoka Hill Farm at 9 hours. 

Please know that upon arrival, we will all be required to sign an indemnity form and photo release.
